Skills/Experience

Expertise in the area of security studies and international relations theory and how these apply to understanding the dynamics of the oil and energy sector. Has a regional expertise on the Middle East, Russia and Central Asia and has also worked extensively on China's international energy policies.

Role in the Project

Leading Work Package 1 which identifies the key variables for understanding conflict and cooperation over access to oil, gas and minerals and which establishes an overarching historical and theoretical framework for the project as a whole.

Will contribute in a more limited way to other work-packages.
